Alameda Arts Alliance
Even on an island, no artist is an island.
We can’t do this alone. Alameda artists need a unified voice that is able to collaborate with city council, city commissions, and city staff. With information collected from arts organizations across the island, we can create unified data driven advocacy briefs and fact sheets. The coalition will strive to consolidate and amplify marketing efforts for arts happening on the island, and act as a bridge between the city and arts related constituents. Instead of planning constant meetings, we plan to curate space for in person connections, and opportunities for cross promotion and collaboration.
You’re already stretched just doing the work to keep art alive in the city. Let us amplify and advocate for those efforts.

Alameda Arts Alliance Goals
We can ensure representation in meetings and events where not all organizations can attend. We’ll give regular updates on city policy and funding opportunities. By consolidating data from arts organizations across the island, we can advocate for tangible, pragmatic support for the arts.
Collective Advocacy & Representation
Tracking City Initiatives & Updates
Members get inclusion in reports and advocacy documents. Your website and social media links will be added to our public lists. We’ll cross promote art events and opportunities on our website and email lists. You’ll have the opportunity to be highlighted in media pitches, case studies, and council presentations.
Let us be the bridge between you and city council, city staff, city commissioners, and each other! We’ll create platforms and events where everyone involved in the arts in Alameda can get to know those in peer organizations, and potential partners for arts initiatives.
Connections and Relationships
Let us be the nosy neighbor you don’t have time to be! We’ll watch out for city funding opportunities, budget meetings, policy changes, planning processes, and public input windows. We’ll break it all down in plain language, and give you summaries of what matters for the arts in our city.
Visibility and Legitimacy
Scope and Limitations
We are currently NOT fundraising. This may change if a need arises in the future, but right now the focus is on strengthening arts in Alameda through a collaborative voice.
We do NOT plan to ever fundraise for member organizations, compete with member programming, or pass judgement on artistic content.
The focus of the arts alliance is on policy, infrastructure, collaboration, funding opportunities, and sustainability.
When we advocate together, arts infrastructure becomes a clear and necessary investment in Alameda’s future.
